Hulse have completed the work on the Citizen M hotel located in Glasgow City Centre, which opened its doors to the public in July 2010.

Being the first Citizen M Hotel in the UK, it employs a modular building method allowing all 198 bedrooms and both stairwells and corridors to be completely constructed off site and then transported for installation. The Industrial, Flexible, Demountable (IFD) building method allows for a consistent quality of manufacture to be achieved.

This particular project requires Hulse to carry out the complete design and installation of all electrical, mechanical, plumbing and sprinkler systems. The electrical and safety systems being installed include: - LV switchgear; Sub-mains and rising busbar; lighting and emergency lighting systems; fire alarms; IPCCTV; Security intruder alarms; disabled refuge; disabled room alarms and WC alarms.

Hulse are also required to install the following mechanical systems: - heating; underfloor heating; plumbing; ventilation; rainwater and above ground drainage; insulation; air conditioning and automatic controls.
